The Von Bondies

The Von Bondies are a garage rock band. i have to say that i really enjoy their sound and look forward to future releases. if you aren't familiar with their work this playlist is a great introduction. the first song you will recognize if you've ever seen the show Rescue Me on FX. that is actually how i was introduced to them. but there is more to them then just one hit song. take a listen and leave a comment if you like.

Nuclear Assault

although i have not been listening to metal music for very long, i have been able to find some awesome metal bands(a lot of which seem to be overlooked and relatively unknown). one such band is Nuclear Assault. although, their videos are kind of odd and confusing sometimes their music is a metal kick in the jaw. check out "Price of Freedom" for example.

I'd Love To Change The World

Ten Years After may be best known for their sweet Woodstock performance in 69, but honestly my favorite Ten Years After is this song. I'd Love To Change The World. it may not be 9 and a half minutes of live guitar ripping like their Woodstock performance(which you should check out by the way) but it is a musically orgasmic psychedelic song with a great message.

The Pillbugs- Spaced-Out

while i was browsing a large selection of psychedelic rock from a website yesterday i happened to come upon The Pillbugs. although i can't speak for their other songs, the few i heard (especially this one) was pretty sweet. it's not Jefferson Airplane, but it's some good stuff. take a listen.

and if you want to hear or know more about The Pillbugs i would suggest looking them up on myspace. i would supply the actual url, but i'm too lazy to go find it, sorry.

Mudcrutch - If You Like Tom Petty....

if you like Tom Petty you will most likely enjoy his original band before he hooked up with The Heartbreakers and hit it big, Mudcrutch. they recently got back together (by recently i mean the album came out around spring) it's a good album all around. i've decided to include Orphan of The Storm, one of my personal favorites. but the whole thing is quality music.

New Bob Dylan - Dreamin' of You

Bob Dylan is legendary. although some of his more recent stuff isn't quite what he used to put out in the 60's (Dylan's prime) he still puts out some fantastic music. his most recent song released, "Dreamin' Of You", is one of my new favorites. any Dylan fan should enjoy this song, and even if you're not exactly a fan, it's a good song and worth a listen.

Eskimo Blue Day - Jefferson Airplane

Jefferson Airplane was quite possibly the greatest (or at least my favorite) psychedelic band from the 60's. they had many amazing songs and hits. Eskimo Blue Day is just one of many. but it's a song that is worth more than just one listen. words really can't describe this song, just listen. your ears will thank you later.

Welcome Music Lovers

welcome to the music listener's blog. this is where i will post music (mostly rock but a lot of every kind of music). anything that i find worthy of attention and have probably been listening to a lot lately will be here because it's great music that deserves some notice. whether it gets radio play makes no difference. whether it's good does.

stick around for great music. until then check out this awesome Monster Magnet song, "4-Way Diablo"
